New for ’72 -Guts to do more for you than ever before. As AMC corporation had now taken over the manufacture of the “Jeep” line, the new marketing campaign was underway. The Wagoneer was offered with a 258 ci engine standard and an available 304 0r 360 V-8.The design was clean and had a color keyed interior. Luxury, comfort, convenience and safety were the keywords used to describe this vehicle. It offered a 110″ wheelbase and a gross Vehicle Weight of 5600 #. The 3 speed column shift was standard with an automatic and 4-speed being options.
The CJ-5 multi-purpose vehicle was tougher,more manuverable and more powerful than ever. With an optional 304 V-8 engine,this CJ5 could really move!. You could get a 3 speed or 4 speed on the floor with this model. The frame, comfortable seats, better leaf springs, new steering system and higher cacpacity rear axles were among the improved features on both CJ5 and Wagoneer as well as the Pickup truck and Jeepster Commando.
